| Pearl rice | 2 cups (160g per cup) | Minced garlic | 5g |
| Water | Fill to the 2-cup Pearl Rice water level mark | Minced ginger | 5g |
| Pork ribs | 200g | Vegetable oil | 15g |
| Potato | 50g | Star anise | Half a piece |
| Carrot | 50g | Bay leaf | 1 leaf |
| Sweetcorn kernels | 30g | Cinnamon bark | A little |
| Shallots | 1–2 cloves |
Sauce Ingredients:
| Cooking wine | 10g | Dark soy sauce | 3g |
| Salt | 2g | Oyster sauce | 5g |
| Light soy sauce | 15g | White sugar | 5g |
Method:
- Cut the pork ribs into approximately 2cm pieces. Blanch, rinse and drain, then set aside.
- Peel and wash the potatoes and carrots, then cut into approximately 1cm cubes. Peel and chop the shallots.
- Heat a wok and briefly stir-fry the shallots, minced ginger and garlic until fragrant. Add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the pork ribs, star anise, bay leaf and cinnamon bark, and stir-fry until the ribs are lightly browned on the surface.
- Add the sweetcorn, diced potatoes and carrots, and stir-fry to combine.
- Add the sauce and stir-fry over medium heat until evenly mixed. Turn off the heat and set aside.
- Rinse the rice and place it in the inner pot. Add water up to the 2-cup Pearl Rice water level mark. Add the ingredients prepared in step 5 and mix well.
- Close the rice cooker, select the Pearl Rice Fine Cook function and start cooking.
- When cooking is complete, open the lid, mix well and serve.
Tips:
Blanching pork ribs before stir-frying helps remove unwanted odours.
