In 1968, the year of the May Revolution in France, a time of breaking free from old values, we overturned the established concepts of the hairdressing industry. In an era before the profession of "hairdresser specializing in studio photography" existed, we founded the mod's hair brand as a hairdresser agency providing studio photography services for fashion photographers, designers, and fashion magazines.

Through collaborations with world-renowned photographers such as Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, and Sarah Moon, we have created a brand new profession – “studio hairstylist”.

In 1974, for the female readers of fashion magazines, we opened our first "mod's hair" store on Rue Rennes in the Saint-Germain district of Paris, the birthplace of fashion trends. In order to break away from the existing constraints on hair design, we re-examined all styling techniques, abandoning the widely used heated hair rollers for setting hair, and instead using hair dryers to create natural hair flow, thus proposing a more natural hair design concept.

This gave birth to mod's hair's unique "coiffé-décoiffé" technique, which creates a practical, easy-to-manage style with a natural, effortlessly tousled look. To this day, we continue to share this natural and elegant charm with the world through our bi-seasonal collections.

Today, over 1,000 stylists who have learned our unique techniques are active in more than 300 salons worldwide, continuing with us the history of mod's hair as an international brand with an innovative and sophisticated vision.

In the future, we will continue to be a hair brand representing "French fashion," constantly striving for new progress and breakthroughs.
