Crispy Bite-sized Shrimp Toast

Ingredients <24 pieces>

【Main ingredients】

  • Shrimp / 200 g
  • Fish and Yam Pancake (はんぺん) / 100 g
  • Bread / 3 pieces
  • Sesame oil / 3 tablespoons
  • ★Sake / 1/2 tablespoon
  • ★Mayonnaise / 1 tablespoon
  • ★Salt / a little
  • ★Katakuri powder / 1 tablespoon


          1. Cut the square bun into 9 equal parts and set aside.

          2. Peel and devein the shrimps, wash them, drain them, and beat them with a knife for about 2 minutes until they turn into sticky shrimp paste.

          3. Put the shrimp paste, fish yam slices and ★ ingredients into a bowl, crush them with your hands, and mix for about 1 minute.

          4. Place the square buns into the small holes of takoyaki plate, and then add the ingredients in step 3 evenly on the bread. Then add sesame oil to each hole.

          5. Adjust the compact hot plate to MED heat, cover the pot and fry for about 4 minutes. Using a takoyaki pin, flip each toast over and grill for another 1 minute. It's done when the bottom is crispy and the filling is cooked.
