Hawaiian Pork Skewers

Ingredients (serves 2-3 people, 6 skewers)
- Bamboo skewers (18cm) 6 pieces
- Pork (Plum Blossom Pork) 300g
- Pineapple chunks (fresh ones are recommended) 120g
- 1/4 red onion
- 6 slices bacon
- 6 mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- A little black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cheese powder
- Red chili powder or mustard (according to personal preference)
Instructions (preparation time: about 40 minutes)
- Preheat the oven : Preheat the oven to 230°C and set the baking time to 20 minutes (preheating time is about 10 minutes).
-
Prepare ingredients : Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces, prepare 18 pieces in total. Cut the red onion into 6 pieces, cut the pineapple into 12 pieces (about 2 cm thick), remove the stems from the mushrooms and rinse them slightly, and roll up the bacon.
- Skewers : skewer red onions, pork, pineapples, pork, mushrooms, bacon, pineapples, and pork in order.
-
Drizzle with olive oil : Place the skewered ingredients on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, drizzle with olive oil, and rub slightly with your hands to incorporate the olive oil into the ingredients. Tip: skewer the pork perpendicular to the grain of the meat to ensure the meat sticks firmly to the skewers when cooked.
-
Season : Season with salt and black pepper, then sprinkle evenly with the grated cheese.
- Bake : When the oven is heated to 230°C, place the roasting pan on the top rack of the oven and bake for 20 minutes, until the pork is cooked through and golden brown.
This skewered pork, pineapple and vegetable dish combines multi-layered flavors, with the aroma of meat and the sweetness of pineapple. It is suitable as a main dish for barbecues or family dinners.
