Giant Black Sesame Roll

【Main ingredients】

  • High-gluten flour / 300g
  • Egg / 1
  • Sugar / 20g
  • Instant yeast / 4g
  • Milk / 140g
  • Salt / 3g
  • Butter / 45g

【Main ingredients】

  • Butter / 60g
  • Brown sugar / 30g
  • Black sesame powder / 50g


          1. To make black sesame paste, mix soft butter, brown sugar and black sesame powder.

          2. Mix high-gluten flour, eggs, sugar, instant yeast and milk evenly, then add salt and dissolved butter and knead until a thin film forms.

          3. Ferment at room temperature for about 50-60 minutes until it doubles in size (the dough does not rebound). Let the dough rest for 10 minutes. Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, spread with black sesame paste, and then cut into rectangular strips about 4cm wide, one by one. Roll up into a cylinder, press tightly to seal, ferment for about 40 minutes, and bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until colored.
