Barbecue Pork

【Main ingredients】

  • Pork shoulder / 900g
  • Hoisin sauce / 3 tablespoons
  • Light soy sauce / 2 tablespoons
  • Honey / 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar / 1 tablespoon
  • Dark soy sauce/1 tablespoon

【Spices (grind with FinaMill electric spice grinder)】

  • Five spice powder / 1 teaspoon


1. Add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, and sugar to a bowl, and grind the five-spice powder with a FinaMill electric spice grinder. Stir everything evenly.

2. Spread the marinade evenly over the pork shoulder.

3. Cover with foil and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

4. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

5. Line a baking sheet with tin foil and place on a grill rack. Place marinated pork on grill. Reserve marinade for later use.

6. Place the pork in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Flip the pork and coat with marinade and bake for another 20 minutes. Coat both sides with the remaining marinade and grill for another 5 minutes on each side. Finally, turn off the oven and let the barbecued pork rest in the oven for a few minutes.

7. Slice and serve.
